We are Otly and we are protecting your data. We know that financial data is super important, just as the data of your children. Being parents ourself we know how important it is to keep this safe. This is why we are using the most secure encryption technology to protect your data.

This also means that WE DO NOT SELL YOUR DATA. We understand that your data is your data and you should be in charge of this data. So, how do we enable you to be in control of your own data?

We also use services like Google Analytics, Facebook and Mailchimp to market our app to other people. This means that we share specific parts of your data with them to make sure we reach the right people. Next to that, services like Google Analytics and Hotjar provide us with insights about your behaviour within the app. We use this data to improve the app and make sure you like it even better than you hopefully already do.

Legal Privacy Statement

This privacy policy has been compiled to better serve our users and potential users who are concerned with how their 'Personally Identifiable Information' (PII) is being used, stored and processed by us. PII is information that can be used on its own or in combination with other information to identify, contact, or locate a single person, or to identify an individual in context. Please read our privacy policy carefully to get a clear understanding of how we collect, use, protect or otherwise handle your Personally Identifiable Information in accordance with our website.

1. What personal information do we collect from the people that use the app?
When ordering or registering on our site, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter your name, email address, allowance information or other details to help you with your experience. Deleting or unsubscribing some of these features will be inhibiting the app from performing the way we designed it. We do not check your data or require it to be true. We want you to use the app you feel works best for you, we will make sure we keep your data safe.


2. When do we collect information?
We collect information the aforementioned information from you when you register on our site or enter information on our site. Category 1 - 9 is entered by you the moment you register to the app. This means you have control over the information and you can edit this whenever and however. Category 10 - 11 is collected in the background while you use the app. You do not have control over this within the app, only the by changing your app usage you can influence this data.

3. How do we use your information?
When you register, we use the information you provide to personalise the experience of the app. This means you choose the names for your kids, the amount of allowance and the profile images. You change or delete most of this information in the app.

A few data categories can not be changed because they are transactional/historical data or because it is a legal requirement from the bank you are connecting to Otly. This means that we can not delete a previously made transaction, or change the number of times you opened the app. We want to inform you that whenever you use our Service, in a case of an error in the app we collect data and information (through third party products) on your phone called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilising our Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other statistics.

We use the parent email address to send updates about new features, send transaction information about the transactions between you and your child(ren). Occasionally we send people tips/tricks and reminders to explain some (potentially overlooked) features of our app. If you do not want to receive a certain type of email. Click the unsubscribe button on the bottom of each email and you will stop receiving these emails

4. How do we protect your information?
Our website is scanned on a regular basis for security holes and known vulnerabilities in order to make your visit to our site as safe as possible. Your personal information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential. In addition, all sensitive/credit information you supply is encrypted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. We implement a variety of security measures when a user places an order enters, submits, or accesses their information to maintain the safety of your personal information. All transactions are processed through a gateway provider and are not stored or processed on our servers.

5. Do we use 'cookies'?
We do not use cookies for tracking purposes. We do use Google Analytics and Facebook tracking Pixels to check the usage of our site and apps. You can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies. You do this through your browser settings. Since browser is a little different, look at your browser's Help Menu to learn the correct way to modify your cookies.

6. Third-party disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your Personally Identifiable Information unless we provide users with advance notice. This does not include website hosting partners and other parties who assist us in operating our website, app, conducting our business, or serving our users, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release information when it's release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others' rights, property or safety.  Non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.

7. Third-party links
Occasionally, at our discretion, we may include or offer third-party products or services on our website. These third-party sites have separate and independent privacy policies. We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our site and welcome any feedback about these sites.

8. Opting out
Users can set preferences for how Google advertises to you using the Google Ad Settings page. Alternatively, you can opt out by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative Opt Out page or by using the Google Analytics Opt Out Browser add on.

9. CalOPPA Complient
Users can visit our site anonymously. Once this privacy policy is created, we will add a link to it on our home page or as a minimum, on the first significant page after entering our website. Our Privacy Policy link includes the word 'Privacy' and can easily be found on the page specified above.

You will be notified of any Privacy Policy changes on our Privacy Policy Page. For major changes we will notify our users by email. Users can change your personal information by logging in to their account or by contacting us at info@otly.net

10. Data breach response action
We will notify the users via in-site notification (and, if appropriate, also through email) within 2 business days
We will notify the appropriate privacy watchdog institution via email within 7 business days

We also agree to the Individual Redress Principle which requires that individuals have the right to legally pursue enforceable rights against data collectors and processors who fail to adhere to the law. This principle requires not only that individuals have enforceable rights against data users, but also that individuals have recourse to courts or government agencies to investigate and/or prosecute non-compliance by data processors.

11. We collect your email address in order to:

  • Send information, respond to inquiries, and/or other requests or questions
  • Process orders and to send information and updates pertaining to orders.
  • Market to our mailing list or continue to send emails to our clients after the original transaction has occurred.

12. CANSPAM Compliance. We will:

  • Not use false or misleading subjects or email addresses.
  • Identify the message as an advertisement in some reasonable way.
  • Include the physical address of our business or site headquarters.
  • Monitor third-party email marketing services for compliance, if one is used.
  • Honor opt-out/unsubscribe requests quickly.
  • Allow users to unsubscribe by using the link at the bottom of each email.
